Singer-songwriter Barry Manilow began performances for his latest Broadway engagement, Manilow Broadway, at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre July 26. The Grammy Award winner is scheduled to play a limited run through August 17.
鈥淚 am thrilled to be returning to my hometown of New York City and performing once again on Broadway,鈥� said Manilow in an earlier statement. 鈥淚t holds a very special place in my heart.鈥�
The artist had 25 consecutive Top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 between 1975 and 1983. The list includes songs that he still sings today: 鈥淢andy,鈥� 鈥淚t's a Miracle,鈥� 鈥淐ould It Be Magic,鈥� 鈥淚 Write the Songs,鈥� 鈥淭ryin' To Get the Feeling Again,鈥� 鈥淭his One's For You,鈥� 鈥淲eekend in New England,鈥� 鈥淟ooks Like We Made It,鈥� 鈥淐an't Smile Without You,鈥� 鈥淓ven Now," and the Grammy-winning 鈥滳opacabana (At the Copa).鈥� He's also got a passion for musical theatre; he wrote the scores for the musicals Harmony and Copacabana.
