Huntington Playwriting Fellow Ken Urban鈥檚 new drama A Guide for the Homesick begins performances at the Tony-winning Boston theatre October 6. Tony nominee and Huntington Theatre Company alum Colman Domingo directs the production, which will run through November 4 at the Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts.

The play explores the lives of two strangers in an Amsterdam hotel room: a Harvard graduate and aid worker returning from East Africa, and a finance worker on an impromptu trip. A passionate encounter unravels their pasts, including confessions of betrayal, and searches for redemption.

The Boston production stars McKinley Belcher III (the Huntington鈥檚 Smart People and Invisible Man) and Samuel H. Levine (Kill Floor and Alligator Off-Broadway).

Urban鈥檚 previous plays include Nibbler, Sense of an Ending, and The Happy Sad. He also penned the screenplay for the film adaptation of the latter, which has received an international film festival distribution. Domingo, a Tony and Olivier nominee for his performance in The Scottsboro Boys, returns to directing after helming productions of Barbecue and Seven Guitars. He is also known for his performance on AMC鈥檚 Fear the Walking Dead.

The creative team includes set designer William Boles, costume designer Kara Harmon, lighting designer Russell H. Champa, and sound designer Lindsay Jones.
