The Actors Fund president and CEO Joseph P. Benincasa received the Thomas H. Kean Arts Advocacy Award from George Street Playhouse artistic director David Saint and the award鈥檚 namesake, former New Jersey Governor Thomas H. Kean, at the Playhouse鈥檚 Annual Gala Benefit, held May 22 at the Heldrich Hotel & Conference Center in New Brunswick, NJ.
George Street honored The Actors Fund for providing 鈥渟ocial services, emergency financial assistance, housing, health care and insurance counseling, and employment and training services to performers and all who work in the performing arts and entertainment.鈥�
Performers at the Gala included Grammy Award-nominated singer and Broadway star Maureen McGovern (鈥淭he Morning After,鈥� Little Women), actress/singer Jessica Fontana (Broadway鈥檚 Cinderella), actress/singer/dancer Krystal Joy Brown (Broadway鈥檚 Motown) and Robert Creighton (Off-Broadway鈥檚 Cagney), among others.
