Musical theatre writer-composer Hyeyoung Kim presents songs from her musicals Sunfish and Days of Rage May 23 at Joe鈥檚 Pub.
The 7 PM concert, titled Hyeyoung Kim: Water & Fire, features Amy Keum (KPOP), Emily Steinhardt (Private Jones), Jarran Muse (Ain't Too Proud), Stephen Christopher Anthony (Dear Evan Hansen), Tommy McDowell (Jesus Christ Superstar national tour), and Rayshun LaMarr (The Voice).
Joe Barros directs the evening with music direction by composer Kim.
Sunfish, with lyrics by Michael Cooper, take audiences to a fairytale world that values sacrifice for love, while Days of Rage, with lyrics by Shoshana Greenberg, reflects the turbulent era of the late 1960s and early 1970s, when many fought passionately for their convictions.
Hyeyoung Kim, Gyurin Kim, and Blayze Teicher produce the concert.
