Andrew Lloyd Webber's Love Never Dies, the sequel to his international hit The Phantom of the Opera, will make its official North American premiere in Detroit, Michigan, at the Fisher Theater October 17鈥�29, with an official opening night October 25, following a preview engagement in Baltimore, Maryland, at the Hippodrome Theater October 3-8.
Touring dates for Boston, Chicago, and Los Angeles were previously announced.

The new touring production reflects an extensive re-working of the material by an Australian creative team for the original Australian premiere in 2011. Directed by Simon Phillips (Priscilla Queen of the Desert The Musical), the production features new set and costume designs by Gabriela Tylesova, choreography by Graeme Murphy, lighting design by Nick Schlieper, and sound design by Mick Potter.
Love Never Dies has a score by Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Glenn Slater. The book is by Lloyd Webber, and Slater. Phantom lyricist is also credited with additional lyrics for the latest incarnation of the sequel.
Love Never Dies is set in 1907. 鈥淚t is 10 years after his disappearance from the Paris Opera House and the Phantom has escaped to a new life in New York where he lives amongst the screaming joy rides and freak shows of Coney Island. In this new, electrically charged world, he has finally found a place for his music to soar, but he has never stopped yearning for his one true love and musical prot茅g茅e, Christine Daa茅,鈥� according to press notes. 鈥淣ow one of the world鈥檚 finest sopranos, Christine accepts an invitation to travel from Paris to New York to perform at a renowned opera house. Christine's marriage to Raoul is suffering at the hands of his drinking and gambling and they desperately need the financial rewards that America can give them. In a final bid to win back Christine鈥檚 love, the Phantom lures her, Raoul, and their young son Gustave, from Manhattan to the glittering and glorious world of Coney Island - not knowing what is in store for them.鈥�
Since its London premiere in 2010, Love Never Dies has played Australia, Denmark, Vienna, Japan, and Germany. A concept album and the London cast recording are available as well as a DVD of the Australian staging.
