Barb Jungr and John McDaniel, who were critically acclaimed for their Beatles celebration, Come Together, will bring their new show, 1968鈥擫et the Sun Shine In, to Joe鈥檚 Pub next month.
The duo, who will play the intimate nightspot July 21, 22, 28, and 29 at 7 PM, will reinvent some of the iconic anthems of 1968, when the Vietnam War and its protesters clashed and the U.S. saw the assassinations of both Robert F. Kennedy and Dr. Martin Luther King.
Attendees can expect to hear such tunes as 鈥淏orn to Be Wild,鈥� 鈥淒o You Know the Way to San Jose?,鈥� 鈥淩evolution,鈥� and 鈥淓verlasting Love.鈥�
Tickets are on sale now . Joe鈥檚 Pub at the Public Theater is located at 425 Lafayette Street. (1968鈥擫et the Sun Shine In will also play four performances in Berlin at Bar Jeder Vernunft in August.
Also to come this summer from Jungr and McDaniel: the release of Float Like a Butterfly 鈥擳he Songs of STING, which will be available in digital and streaming format beginning June 29. That will be followed by a CD release September 28.
