News Broadway Will Celebrate Theodore Bikel with Tribute Concert 54 Below, in collaboration with the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene's KulturefestNYC, will host a tribute concert in honor of the late Theodore Bikel, who passed away July 21 and was a frequent collaborator with NYTF. The concert, titled Another Hundred Years, will be held Aug. 5 at 9:30 PM.

The one-night-only event will feature a Broadway cast that includes (), (), Garth Kravits (), (), Ashley Moniz (), Maddy Trumble (), Alan Wiggins (), () and more.

The evening will pay tribute to Bikel, the stage and film actor who played Captain Von Trapp in the original Broadway production of  and who portrayed the role of Tevye from Fiddler on the Roof more than 2,000 times. Earlier this year, he was presented with a lifetime achievement award at the 2015 KulturfestNYC, the week-long summer festival presented by NYTF.

Longtime friends performing in his honor will also include David Edwards, who performed with Bikel in the original The Rothschilds and in Fiddler on the Roof; Jonathan Hadley, who performed opposite Bikel as Perchik in the Fiddler national tour; and Peter Davenport, who played Captain Von Trapp in the national tour of The Sound of Music. Lawrence Craig, Andrew Keltz, Elyssa Brette Mactas, Jessica Mortellaro and Abigail Shapiro will also perform.

Another Hundred Years will blend a multi-media spectacle with popular show tunes from operettas to contemporary musical theatre, celebrating the lasting influence Jewish culture has had on Broadway. The concert will feature the music of composers , , and more.

Another Hundred Years is conceived and produced by Chris Massimine, KulturfestNYC鈥檚 executive producer and NYTF鈥檚 COO; Jamibeth Margolis; and Megan Minutillo. Minutillo will also direct, and Ben Krauss will provide music direction. "We鈥檙e passing along the torch," said NYTF executive director Bryna Wasserman in a press statement. "The concert is an homage to that which was and some insight to what鈥檚 around the corner. Theo [Bikel] shaped the world through his songs. It鈥檚 our honor to pay tribute to his legacy as an artist and activist." NYTF is now in its 101st season.
