News Charles Busch Is Cleopatra Tonight The drag legend's newest comedy begins performances Off-Broadway.

Performances begin March 25 for Charles Busch's Cleopatra at Theater for the New City, directed by longtime collaborator Carl Andress.

In his newest show, the performer takes to the stage with his own bawdy interpretation of the Egyptian queen. It is billed as "original, outrageous and majestic"; performances will run through April 17.

Joining Busch, who stars in the title role are frequent collaborators: Lawrence Bullock as Apollodorus, as Iras, Andy Halliday as The Soothsayer, Ashley Austin Morris as Charmion and as both Octavian and his twin sister, Octavia. Tony Sheldon (Tony nominee for Priscilla Queen of the Desert) plays both Julius Caesar and Caesar鈥檚 wife Calpurnia, and Joe Zaso (The Wolf of Wall Street) appears as Marc Antony.

All available tickets are now sold out, marking the third consecutive sold-out run for Busch at the downtown theatre. Ticketing policies for audience members hoping to secure last minute tickets are outlined below.

Busch returns to Theater for the New City following the 2010 premiere of The Divine Sister, which later received an acclaimed Off-Broadway run, and 2012鈥檚 Judith of Bethulia. Both productions, directed by Andress, played sold-out engagements.聽Busch is the writer of The Tale of the Allergist鈥檚 Wife, which was nominated for three Tony Awards and ran on Broadway for nearly two years.

The creative team for Charles Busch鈥檚 Cleopatra includes scenic and graphic design by B.T. Whitehill, costume design by Jessica Jahn, lighting design by Zach Blane, sound design by Bart Fasbender and wig design by Katherine Carr.

Theater for the New City鈥檚 Community Theater is located at 155 First Ave., Manhattan.
