News Charles Busch to Take on Cleopatra in New Comedy Drag legend Charles Busch will return to Theater for the New City with his new comedy, Charles Busch's Cleopatra, next month. Busch is the writer of The Tale of the Allergist鈥檚 Wife, which was nominated for three Tony Awards and ran on Broadway for nearly two years.

In his newest show, directed by longtime collaborator , the performer will take to the stage with his own bawdy interpretation of the Egyptian queen. It is billed as "original, outrageous and majestic"; performances will run March 22-April 17. An ensemble cast will be announced soon.

Busch returns to Theater for the New City following the 2010 premiere of The Divine Sister, which later received an acclaimed Off-Broadway run, and 2012鈥檚 Judith of Bethulia. Both productions, directed by Andress, played sold-out engagements.

The creative team for Charles Busch鈥檚 Cleopatra includes scenic and graphic design by B.T. Whitehill, costume design by Jessica Jahn, lighting design by Zach Blane, sound design by Bart Fasbender and wig design by Katherine Carr.

Tickets, priced $25, can be purchased online at or by calling (212) 868-4444. Theater for the New City鈥檚 Community Theater is located at 155 First Ave., Manhattan.
