Dexter, Michigan's Encore Musical Theatre Company will stage the revised premiere of Paul Gordon's Sense & Sensibility later this spring. Running February 27 through March 16, the production will be directed by Broadway veteran Matt Bogart, who will also star.
Featuring book, music, and lyrics by Tony nominee Gordon (Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice, Emma, Daddy Long Legs) and based on the novel by Jane Austen, the chamber musical's revised run is sponsored by Judith Manocherian (Once on This Island). Founded in 2008 by Daniel Cooney (Mamma Mia!, Bonnie and Clyde, Heathers, Les Mis茅rables), the Encore Musical Theatre Company is a regional enterprise dedicated to intimate musical theatre staging in the Great Lakes region.
The cast will feature Chelsea Packard (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical) as Elinor Dashwood, Jessica Grov茅 (Les Mis茅rables) as Marianne Dashwood, and Bogart (Jersey Boys) as Colonel Brandon, with Adam Woolsey as Edward Ferrars, Marlene Inman as Fanny Dashwood and Mrs. Jennings, Chad Marge as Willoughby, Sanchi Pandey as Lucy Steele and Miss Grey, and Mitchell J. Hardy as John Dashwood and Sir John Middleton.
The production will also feature music direction by Leah Fox, stage management by Sarah M. Delia, set design is by Sarah Tanner, lighting design by Robert Perry, props design by Anne Donevan, and sound design by Chris Goosman and Jasper Watson.
