Collette Guitart (Why Am I So Single?) and Tobias Turley (Mamma Mia!) will star in the the U.K. premiere of White Rose: The Musical later this spring.
The musical, which premiered Off-Broadway in 2024, is based on a true story, and features a book and lyrics by Brian Belding, with music by Natalie Brice. The musical follows a group of university-level student activists who stood up to Hitler in Nazi Germany, risking everything by creating and distributing leaflets that challenged his propaganda. Will Nunziata again directs.
Running at London鈥檚 Marylebone Theatre February 27 through April 13, opening night is set for March 4. Additional cast and creative team information will be released at a later date.
Said Belding, 鈥淭he true story of the White Rose has inspired me for years. These students were the privileged few who benefited from unjust laws and discrimination and yet they were the ones who ultimately stood up for those who no longer had a voice. They chose to use their privilege for good, risking everything while doing so. I created White Rose: The Musical so this amazing story might inspire those struggling to find their own way to take action where they see injustice.鈥
