Comedian, singer-songwriter, and performer Daisy Hobbs has launched an original musical web series about the struggles of a musical theatre actor. Titled Outcast, and now available online, the series is created, written, directed, and produced by Hobbs, who also stars as the leading character鈥攁 hilarious and well-meaning singing actor called Lisa Bobbins.

Watch the first episode, 鈥淚 Can't Be in a Black Musical,鈥 in which Lisa struggles during an audition of The Color Purple, above. Hobbs also performs the episode's title song.
Outcast, which officially launched earlier this month, is billed by Hobbs as a 鈥渕ix between Issa Rae's Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl, Michaela Coel's Chewing Gum, and Rachel Bloom's Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.鈥
