Readings and Workshops Emily Skinner and Krystina Alabado Starring in The Devil Wears Prada Musical Reading The industry presentation of the Elton John, Shaina Taub, and Paul Rudnick musical takes place July 1 and July 2.

A current reading of the in-development musical adaptation of The Devil Wears Prada takes place this week, with Tony Award nominee Emily Skinner starring as fashion magazine titan Miranda Priestly.

Skinner, currently playing Georgia Holt in Broadway鈥檚 The Cher Show, is no stranger to singing composer Elton John鈥檚 music on the stage, having previously appeared in the Tony, Oscar, and Grammy winner鈥檚 Billy Elliot.

Starring alongside Skinner in the July 1 and 2 industry presentation is Krystina Alabado (叠谤辞补诲飞补测鈥檚 Mean Girls) as fledgling assistant Andy Sachs, Hel茅ne Yorke (The Other Two) as Emily, Mario Cantone (Sex and the City) as Nigel, Etai Benson (The Band鈥檚 Visit) as Nate, Jo Lampert (Joan of Arc: Into the Fire) as Lily, and Nicholas Christopher (Hamilton) as Christian.

Rounding out the company for the reading are Sydney Charles, Britney Coleman, Dayna Dantzler, Tyrone Davis Jr., Henry Gottfried, Molly Hager, Katie Lee Hill, Anne Hollister, Jessie Hooker-Bailey, Liana Hunt, Christopher Innvar, Blaine Krauss, and Nikka Lanzarone. Leslie Hiatt reads stage directions.

The musical, based on Lauren Weisberger鈥檚 2003 novel and the 2006 movie starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, features lyrics by Shaina Taub and a book by Paul Rudnick. Anna D. Shapiro , with Nadia DiGiallonardo serving as music supervisor. Casting is by Stephen Kopel.

No word yet on a production timeline for the musical鈥檚 future life, including an expected Broadway bow. Kevin McCollum serves as lead producer.
