News Emily Skinner Begins Italian Romance in Do I Hear a Waltz? Tonight Performances of Do I Hear a Waltz?, a rarely revived musical romance starring Tony nominee Emily Skinner, begin at San Francisco's Eureka Theatre Oct. 1 prior to an official opening Oct. 4.

The musical, a collaboration between , and , continues performances through Oct. 19.

Helmed by 42nd Street Moon artistic director Greg MacKellan, Do I Hear a Waltz? features Tyler McKenna as the Italian who woos Skinner's Leona. The cast also includes Taylor Bartolucci, Jonah Broscow, Nikita Burshteyn, Lucinda Hitchcock Cone, David Naughton, Stephanie Rhoads, Michael Rhone and Abby Sammons.

Here's how the production is billed: "Based on Arthur Laurents' 1952 play , which inspired the movie 'Summertime,' the wistful story follows a lonely American tourist as she finds romance under the enchantment of mid-1960s Venice."

Do I Hear a Waltz? opened on Broadway March 18, 1965, at the 46th Street Theatre with a cast that featured and in the lead roles. The musical received three Tony Award nominations, including Best Original Score. It has never been revived on Broadway.

The production features musical direction by Dave Dobrusky, set design by Hector Zavala, costume design by Felicia Lilienthal and lighting design by Danny Maher.
