Syracuse Stage has announced the lineup of productions for its 2025�2026 season, which features Disney's Frozen, the world premiere of Rae Binstock's Relentless, and more.
The season will kick off with The Hello Girls, running September 10-28. With music and lyrics by Peter Mills and a book by Mills and Cara Reichel, the musical tells the story of the first women soldiers in the U.S. Army, who served on the front lines during World War I. Reichel is set to direct the production.
Patrick Barlow's adaptation of The 39 Steps will follow, running October 22–November 9. Based on the John Buchan novel, Alfred Hitchcock film, and original concept by Simon Corble and Nobby Dimon, the comedy follows retired British Army Officer Richard Hannay, who is unwittingly pulled into an international web of state secrets, double agents, and murder.
From November 25–December 28, Syracuse Stage will ring in the holiday season with Philip Grecian's stage adaptation of A Christmas Story. Based on Jean Shepherd's novel and the classic 1983 film, the work follows nine-year-old Ralphie Parker, who has his sights set on a coveted Christmas gift. Robert Hupp is set to direct.
Next in the season will be the world premiere of Rae Binstock's Relentless, running February 4-22, 2026. Melissa Crespo will direct the new play, which follows former professional boxer Monique Jeffries. As the Golden Gloves amateur tournament approaches, Monique receives a surprising offer from one of her “white collar� boxing clients.
August Wilson's Joe Turner's Come and Gone will follow, running March 11-29. Timothy Douglas will direct the play, set in a Pittsburgh boarding house. When Herald Loomis arrives at the home for drifters and broken hearts, recently freed from a Southern chain gang and with his young daughter in tow, he's desperate to reunite with a wife who might not want to be found.
The season will close with the musical adaptation of Disney's Frozen, running May 13-June 21. Based on the hit film, the work features music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, with a book by Jennifer Lee. Amy Anders Corcoran will direct the Syracuse production, with choreography by Marjorie Failoni and music direction by Brian Cimmet.
Syracuse Stage will also offer productions for young audiences, including an elementary school tour of Finegan Kruckemeyer's My Robot and interactive performances of Kate Laissle's Little Martians, Big Emotions.
