News Fun Home's Award-Winning Kid Star Sydney Lucas to Exit Tony-Winning Musical Sydney Lucas, the Tony-nominated young star of Fun Home, will depart the production Oct. 4.

Lucas created the role in the musical's developmental Off-Broadway premiere at the Public Theater in 2012, and returned for the full 2013-14 run there, as well as the acclaimed Broadway transfer last season. She earned nominations from the Lucille Lortel, Outer Critics Circle, Drama League, Drama Desk Award and Tony Awards, and became the youngest actress to ever win an Obie Award.

Critics and audiences were captivated by Lucas' performance, which includes the song "Ring of Keys" 鈥� a moment Fun Home producers opted to showcase on the 2015 Tony Awards.

Lucas will be succeeded by her understudy, actress Gabriella Pizzolo on Oct. 6. She'll step into the role of Small Allison after having covered all three children's roles in the production.
