A new production of Mark Medoff鈥檚 Tony-winning drama Children of a Lesser God, directed by Tony Award winner Kenny Leon, began performances at the Berkshire Theatre Group June 22 for a run through July 22.
The play, which explores the relationship between an unorthodox speech therapist and one of his students鈥攁 young Deaf woman hesitant to integrate herself into the hearing world鈥攃o-stars Lauren Ridloff (Wonderstruck) as Sarah Norman (a role that won Phyllis Frelich a Tony Award and Marlee Matlin an Oscar) and Joshua Jackson (Dawson鈥檚 Creek, Smart People) as James Leeds.
Broadway producer is attached to the production, which may find a future life beyond its BTG run. In 2014 Luftig announced plans to bring Children of a Lesser God back to Broadway.

Open Captioning is scheduled for every performance of Children of a Lesser God. ASL interpreted performances will also be offered on the following dates: July 12 at 2 PM and July 21 at 8 PM.
