James Manuel Meneses' play Healing Mined will have its world premiere at Theaterlab April 24-27. Rosie Corr (Harmony) is set to direct and choreograph.
The cast will feature Luis Carlos de la Lombana (La Strada), Jeremiah Garcia (Stranger Sings! The Parody Musical), and Amilia Shaw (Mere Waters).
Healing Mined follows Gonzalo, a middle-aged father, who retreats into dreams, fairy tales, and memories for solace after his wife's death. But as reality and fantasy blur, he must face a hard truth: the peace he longs for isn鈥檛 in the past or his dreams, but in embracing an uncertain future.
The work features a score by Natalie Brice (White Rose: The Musical). Noah Turner (Jersey Boys) will lead music supervision and provide accompaniment. Michelle J. Kaplan is consulting.
