Jimmy Buffett and the company of Escape to Margaritaville celebrated the launch of its pre-Broadway tour at the McKittrick Hotel鈥檚 Gallow Green September 28. The new musical, slated to arrive on Broadway in February 2018, begins performances in New Orleans at the Saenger Theatre October 20 before traveling to Houston and Chicago.
The principal cast includes (Bright Star), Alison Luff (Les Mis茅rables), (), Rema Webb (), Don Sparks (), and Andre Ward (Something Rotten!).
The production had its world premiere earlier this year at La Jolla Playhouse.
Escape to Margaritaville, directed by Tony winner Christopher Ashley and choreographed by Kelly Devine, weaves original and classic Buffett tunes to tell the story of a part-time bartender and singer who questions his breezy lifestyle after meeting a beautiful, career-minded tourist. Greg Garcia and Mike O'Malley have penned the book.
