Center Theatre Group artistic director Michael Ritchie has announced the company鈥檚 2016-17 season at the CTG/Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City. The slate is set to feature the world premiere of 痴颈肠耻帽补 by Other Desert Cities playwright Jon Robin Baitz as well as a new solo show by Oscar-nominated writer Lucy Alibar.

础濒颈产补谤鈥檚 Throw Me on the Burnpile and Light Me Up, detailing her upbringing in the South, is set to open the season, running September 10-October 2 with direction by Neel Keller. Alibar received an Academy Award nomination for co-writing Beasts of the Southern Wild.

Baitz鈥檚 politically charged 痴颈肠耻帽补 will be directed by Robert Egan and is set to play October 23-November 20. The play, according to press notes, 鈥渄elves beneath the overstitching, through the weave and into the true power of the power suit. A suit may or may not make the man but it definitely reveals him 鈥 offering the world a glimpse of his taste, judgement and intelligence. Influenced by the evolving political landscape, Baitz鈥檚 new play focuses on a brash candidate on the rise and the world-renowned tailor who just might have the final piece needed to clinch the election.鈥

The season will also feature Deborah Stein鈥檚 The Wholehearted; the U.S. premiere of Tim Crouch鈥檚 Adler & Gibb; the world premiere of Ngozi Anyanwu鈥檚 Good Grief; and Lauren Yee鈥檚 King of the Yees.
