Comedian Lewis Black appeared on The Today Show to discuss his most recent Broadway outing: the November 26 performance of Celebrity Autobiography.
鈥淚t was a too much fun,鈥� he said. 鈥淚t was like eating frosting.鈥�
Black read from Vanna White鈥檚 autobiography, but, unlike co-star Mario Cantone (who read Carol Channing's in her voice), Black did not attempt to do an impression of the memoir's subject. 鈥淚 thought that I inhabited Vanna,鈥� he said. Though Black won鈥檛 be back for the remaining two performances December 10 and 17, a new lineup of celebrities are set to read the celebrity autobiographies, including Alec Baldwin and Queer Eye鈥檚 Antoni Porowski.
Black is currently on tour with his show Lewis Black Live, which incorporates a new segment: The Rant Is Due, which turns rants submitted to Black via the Q&A portal on his website into performance pieces. 鈥淚t's all written by the people. It's a show written by the people of the city I'm in.鈥�
