London News London Stage Adaptation of Stanley Kubrick鈥檚 Dr. Strangelove Will Be Screened Worldwide

Seven-time BAFTA winner Steve Coogan leads the theatrical adaptation of Kubrick's film.

The world premiere stage adaptation of Stanley Kubrick鈥檚 Dr. Strangelove will be released to cinemas next year via National Theatre Live. The acclaimed production, which continues at the No毛l Coward Theatre through January 25, 2025, will hit silver screens worldwide beginning March 27.

Filmed live at the No毛l Coward, the comedy features seven-time BAFTA Award winner Steve Coogan, who plays four roles鈥擠r. Strangelove, President Merkin Muffley, Group Captain Lionel Mandrake, and Major TJ Kong鈥攊n the theatrical reimagining.

The company also features Giles Terera as General Buck Turgisdon, with John Hopkins as General Jack D. Ripper, Oliver Alvin-Wilson as Jefferson, Penny Ashmore as Vera Lynn, Ben Deery as General Staines, Richard Dempsey as Frank, Mabli Gwynne as Swing, Mark Hadfield as Faceman, Tony Jayawardena as Russian Ambassador Bakov, Ben Turner as Colonel Bat Guano, and Dharmesh Patel as Lincoln. The ensemble includes Tom Kelsey, Daniel Norford, Adam Sina, and Alex Stoll.

Directed by Sean Foley and co-adapted by Foley and Armando Iannucci, the satire follows a rogue U.S general who triggers a nuclear attack.

Foley and Iannucci lead a creative team consisting of set and costume designer Hildegard Bechtler, lighting designer Jessica Hung Han Yun, sound designers and original music composers Ben and Max Ringham, projection designer Akhila Krishnan, casting director Amy Ball, illusion artist Chris Fisher, and movement director Lizzi Gee.

Following the West End run, the production will play a limited engagement at Dublin鈥檚 Bord G谩is Energy Theatre February 5鈥�22.
