Marianna Gailus, who made her Broadway debut in Patriots, has been named Andrew Scott's understudy in Vanya, Simon Stephens' solo adaptation of the Chekhov classic Uncle Vanya.
Vanya is set to begin performances at the Lucille Lortel
Theatre March 10 ahead of a March 18 opening night, with an extended run
continuing Off-Broadway through May 11.
Gailus, seen on screen in Law & Order, will play her first performance at the April 23 matinee; all tickets will be $40. (Scott is scheduled to perform at all other performances.)

Transferring from London's West End, the
revival features stage and screen star Scott reprising his Olivier-nominated performance, taking on every role in the Chekhov play,
about a family beset by secrets, illicit love interests, and deep

Sam Yates is again directing, alongside designer Rosanna Vize. The creative team also includes lighting designer James Farncombe, sound designer Dan Balfour, video designer Jack Phelan, composer Kelly Moran, and costume designer Natalie Pryce with physicality by Michela Meazza.
Wessex Grove, Gavin Kalin Productions, and Kater Gordon are again producing. Vanya is executive produced by Wagner Johnson Productions.
