Hairspray Live! Original Soundtrack of the NBC Television Event is now available for pre-order on Amazon, and the musical numbers for the NBC live event have been released.
According to Amazon, the second act opening number on Broadway, 鈥淭he Big Dollhouse,鈥� has been cut from the live broadcast. Numbers written specifically for the 2007 musical film that have been added to the NBC live broadcast include 鈥淟adies鈥� Choice鈥� and 鈥淐ome So Far (Got So Far to Go)鈥�; 鈥淭he New Girl in Town鈥� and 鈥淏ig, Blonde, and Beautiful (Reprise),鈥� songs added to the 2007 film, did not make the cut for the NBC live show.
Songs that did not make the 2007 musical film that have been reinstated for the NBC live show are 鈥淢ama, I鈥檓 a Big Girl Now,鈥� 鈥淰elma鈥檚 Revenge,鈥� 鈥淕ood Morning Baltimore (Reprise),鈥� and 鈥淐ooties.鈥� (鈥淢ama, I鈥檓 a Big Girl Now鈥� and 鈥淐ooties鈥� were played over the films credits but not in the movie itself.)

, songwriter Marc Shaiman told press, 鈥淭here鈥檚 one or two things from Broadway that are not included, and there鈥檚 maybe one or two things written for the movie that are not included. 鈥� It will be very nice to see it all put together as one.鈥�
Co-writer Scott Wittman told press that Harvey Fierstein, who is also working on a revised book for the live broadcast, has done a 鈥渨onderful job of sort of reshuffling the cards鈥� with the script.
Hairspray Live! will hit television screens December 7 on NBC.
