The story follows "Sherlock Holmes" author and his decision to kill off his most celebrated character. "This is an all new story, you have never heard before filled with adventure, mystery and romance," states a description on the show's website.
According to the , The Man Who Murdered Sherlock Holmes had been in development for several years but languished after Shannon's death. Resurrected with the help of Chicago-based composer Mahler, the premiere production is being directed by Rachel Rockwell.
