News Normal Heart Actors Cast in New Off-Broadway Play About Challenges of Gay Dads Tony winner John Benjamin Hickey and Patrick Breen, both featured in the 2011 Broadway staging of The Normal Heart, will lead the cast of Peter Parnell's Dada Woof Papa Hot at Lincoln Center Theater this October. The new work examines the challenges faced by gay parents, as played by Hickey (The Crucible, "The Good Wife") and Breen (Big River, "Whole Day Down").

The cast will also feature a host of Broadway performers, including actress , Alex Hurt (), (Twentieth Century, ), (Equivocation, ) and ().

Helmed by multi-Tony nominee (, ), performances of Dada Woof Papa Hot are set to begin Oct. 15, with an opening night scheduled for Nov. 9 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater.

In Dada Woof Papa Hot, Alan and Rob are an older married couple with a three-year-old daughter. During the course of a school year, the two, along with their friends, struggle with what it means to be married with children during this time of social and cultural change. Using both comedy and drama, the play questions whether gay parents face the same challenges as straight ones, or whether there is something essentially different about being a gay dad.

The production will feature set design by , costume design by Jennifer von Mayrhauser, lighting by and original music and sound by .

Parnell's earlier play also played LCT, where it enjoyed an extended run. Most recently, he wrote the new book for the and musical The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
