Off-Broadway News Off-Broadway's Drag: The Musical Gets Some New Kiddos

Beau Coddou and Dylan Patterson are both making their Off-Broadway debut, sharing the role of Brendan beginning later this month.

Off-Broadway's DRAG: The Musical will welcome Beau Coddou and Dylan Patterson to the company beginning March 17. The two will both make their Off-Broadway debuts alternating in the role of Brendan Hutchinson, succeeding original cast members Remi Tuckman and Yair Keydar.

The musical is set to play its final performance at New World Stage April 27, when it will have played 215 regular performances and 24 previews. Off-Broadway opening night was October 21, 2024, and followed two earlier runs in Los Angeles. Producers have said a London run will be next, with details to be announced.

Written by RuPaul's Drag Race star Alaska Thunderf*ck, Tomas Costanza, and Ashley Gordon, the show follows two rival drag bars, each fighting for survival while dealing with financial troubles. Spencer Liff is directing and choreographing.

Alaska is also the show's original star, and is currently back in an encore run as Kitty Galloway that began February 8. The current cast also includes Nick Adams as Alexis Gillmore, Eddie Korbich as Drunk Jerry, Jan Sport as Savannah St. James, Jujubee as The Tigress, Lagoona Bloo as Tuna Turner, Luxx Noir London as Popcorn, Tamika Lawrence as Dixie Coxworth, Lisa Helmi Johanson as Gloria Schmidt and Rita LaRitz, Nick Laughlin as Puss Puss DuBois, and Adam Pascal as the straight man Tom Hutchinson. Original cast member J. Elaine Marcos will return as Gloria Schmidt beginning March 26.

The ensemble includes Cameron Mitchell Bell, Peli Naomi Woods, Kodiak Thompson, Nicholas Kraft, Teddy Wilson Jr., and Adrian Villegas.

The production also features scenic design by Jason Sherwood, costume design by Marco Marco, lighting design by Adam Honore, sound design by Drew Levy, makeup design by Aurora Sexton, and projection design by Aaron Rhyne. KGM Theatrical is general manager. Jennifer Rogers is production stage manager, and Matthew Hermann is assistant stage manager.
