Holly Reed's new musical True North will have an industry-only reading October 23. The holiday show about a family rediscovering hope and joy during the Christmas season will be directed by Richard H. Blake (Legally Blonde).
Set to music by husband-and-wife duo Holly Reed and Kelvin Reed, plus a book and lyrics by Holly Reed, the musical centers on a widowed father who has been sent on a military mission just a few weeks before Christmas, leading his son on a quest to bring him home in time for the holiday.
鈥淥ur goal with True North was to combine the joy and nostalgia of the holidays with a deeper story that will resound with audiences of all ages,鈥� said Holly Reed and Kelvin Reed in a statement.
The cast will include Paolo Montalban, Michael Deaner, Salena Qureshi, Charlie Franklin, Amanda Jane Cooper, Major Attaway, Paige Faure, John Edwards, Cherry Torres, and Mike Backes.
