All the Beauty in the World, a new solo show written and performed by Patrick Bringley, will begin a limited engagement at Off-Broadway's DR2 Theatre March 27.

Based on Bringley's best-selling memoir, the production will officially open April 7. Dominic Dromgoole directs.

Following his brother's death, Bringley quit his high-profile journalism career at The New Yorker and sought refuge at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Through his job as a museum guard, he started his life anew, all while falling under the spell of the place and the people he met there.

鈥淎s a museum guard, I stood quietly in corners and never dreamed I would take center stage,鈥 said Bringley in a statement. 鈥淚'm touched by the public's embrace of my memoir鈥攁 story about art, an extraordinary workplace, and the fellowship I discovered in the wake of a loss. Performing it as a one-man play is fitting, given a guard鈥檚 solitary role. But what excites me most is getting to share moments of epiphany with an audience. After all, a theatre, no less than a gallery, is a place for art.鈥

The stage adaptation was first produced as a special presentation at the 2024 Charleston Literary Festival, Charleston, South Carolina.

The upcoming production will also have scenic design by Dromgoole, lighting design by Abigail Hoke-Brady, projection design by Austin Switser, and sound design by Caleb Garner.

All the Beauty in the World is produced by Sarah Moriarty and Charleston Literary Festival, Nina Keneally, and Staci Levine, and general-managed by Groundswell Theatricals, Inc.
