The Roundabout Theatre Company revival of Samm-Art Williams' Home begins performances at Broadway's Todd Haimes Theatre May 17. The coming-of-age story was originally staged by the Negro Ensemble Company in 1979 and transferred to Broadway the following year. The play follows Cephus Miles, a Black southern farmer who is jailed for his opposition to the Vietnam War. He then moves north, only to find even more difficulties away from his North Carolina home.
The cast features (The Equalizer, True Detective) as Cephus Miles, (Lethal Legacy, Boomerang) as Woman One/Pattie Mae Wells, and (Blood at the Root) as Woman Two. All will be making their Roundabout debuts. Kimber Elayne Sprawl (Girl From the North Country) and RJ Foster (Fat Ham) serve as understudies.
