Signature Theatre presented a benefit reading of Pulitzer Prize winner Katori Hall's The Mountaintop March 24 at the Pershing Square Signature Center. Brandon J. Dirden was at the helm.
The reading featured Emmy and Grammy winner Blair Underwood as Martin Luther King Jr. and Emmy nominee Nicole Beharie as Camae, a maid at the Memphis motel King stayed in the night before his assassination.

The Mountaintop premiered at Theatre503 in the U.K., then transferred to the West End, and won the Olivier Award for Best New Play. In 2011, Samuel L. Jackson and Angela Bassett led the work's Broadway premiere.
