Gilbert and Sullivan鈥檚 The Pirates of Penzance returns to New York City November 11-19, as part of the historic Blue Hill Troupe鈥檚 93rd season. Performances take place at the Theatre at St. Jean鈥檚.
Each year, Blue Hill Troupe directs proceeds from its productions to a different charity. The 2016-17 season benefits the non-profit . Since its inception in 1924, the Blue Hill Troupe has donated over $4 million to New York City charities.
The Pirates of Penzance is directed by Carl Schmehl with music direction by William Remmers.

Here鈥檚 how it鈥檚 billed: 鈥淭his perennial audience favorite tells the story of a pirate named Frederic, who at the age of 21, has completed his apprenticeship and is ready to seek his fortune as an upstanding citizen. Wasting no time, he falls in love with the beautiful daughter of a local Major General鈥ut is thwarted by the discovery that he was born on February 29th. With a Leap Day birthday, he鈥檚 only 5, not 21, which means he鈥檚 still a pirate!鈥�
