The 2018 Tony nominations were announced May 1 and two original musicals led the pack with the most nominations of the season.

Mean Girls and SpongeBob SquarePants, The Broadway Musical each walked away with 12 nods. The Band鈥檚 Visit earned 11 nominations, and musical revivals did well, too, with Carousel earning 11, My Fair Lady earning ten, and Once on This Island earning eight. Disney鈥檚 Frozen earned three nominations, but they are the big three: Best Musical, Best Original Score, and Best Book of a Musical. And 20 performers were recognized for their work in the ten total musical productions that bowed this 2017鈥�2018 season.
This week鈥檚 半岛体育 Mixtape celebrates the nominated musicals鈥攐riginal and revival鈥攚ith songs from the scores of nominated shows (although not all of the latest cast albums are available), as well as one-off numbers from previous performances by newly-nominated actors.

Think Best Musical nominee SpongeBob鈥檚 鈥淏ikini Bottom Day鈥� sung by Leading Actor nominee Ethan Slater. Think 鈥淚 Could Have Danced All Night鈥� in honor of My Fair Lady. Think 鈥淟et It Sing鈥� from Joshua Henry鈥檚 previously Tony-nominated performance in Violet now that he鈥檚 nominated for Carousel.
