While these creative and performers have been inspiring us with their work, we want to know what鈥檚 been inspiring them offstage. We asked this year鈥檚 Drama Desk and Tony nominees to tell us about the books they鈥檙e reading, the movies they鈥檙e watching, and the songs they can鈥檛 stop listening to for our mini-series 鈥淟ive Like a Nominee.鈥�

Denise Gough, Drama Desk nominee for Actress in a Play for People, Places & Things and Tony nominee for Featured Actress in a Play for Angels in America: 鈥淎nything by Rag鈥檔鈥橞one Man. I think 鈥橪ove You Any Less.鈥� The album Human is the soundtrack of my Angels in America New York experience.鈥�
Jelani Alladin, Drama Desk nominee for Actor in a Musical for Frozen: 鈥溾楾his Is America,鈥� Childish Gambino. It came out two days ago and literally we played it 70 times in my dressing room yesterday. In fact, yesterday I did an entire photo shoot based off of the song. I re-planned a whole shoot. It鈥檚 a red, white, and blue series that鈥檚 going to come out on my Instagram.鈥�

Carrie Coon, Drama Desk nominee for Actress in a Play for Mary Jane: 鈥淢y baby loves jazz, so we鈥檝e actually been listening to a lot of Lee Morgan, who鈥檚 a saxophonist, and he鈥檚 extraordinary.鈥�
Kyle Jarrow, Drama Desk and Tony nominee for Book of a Musical for SpongeBob SquarePants: 鈥淚 have a two-year-old daughter and she loves Moana. She loves the 鈥榊ou鈥檙e Welcome鈥� song. It鈥檚 an amazing song. I鈥檝e listened to it 80,000, times and it just gets better. The Rock can really sing.鈥�
Max Vernon, Drama Desk nominee for Outstanding Music for KPOP: 鈥淚 cannot stop listening to 鈥楳ove鈥� by TAEMIN. He was one of the singers in SHINee, a K-POP band, and he鈥檚 going solo. Even though it鈥檚 K-POP, he鈥檚 doing this weird, ambisexual, George Michael kind of glam rock thing, and it鈥檚 badass.鈥�

Laurie Metcalf, Drama Desk nominee for Actress in a Play and Tony nominee for Featured Actress in a Play for Three Tall Women: 鈥淩ight now I鈥檓 hooked on the soundtrack of Singin鈥� in the Rain because my 13-year-old daughter just played the lead in a community theatre production in L.A.
