Stage to Page Which Cast of Characters Deserves a Sequel? Sequels. The Phantom of the Opera has one, so does Annie and Bye Bye Birdie... It seems that audiences just can't get enough of certain stories. 半岛体育.com took to Facebook and Twitter to ask its readers which show most deserved a sequel.

Les Mis茅rables:

The international hit musical Les Mis茅rables, currently back on Broadway, tells the story of relentless policeman Javert's decades-long pursuit of the escaped convict Jean Valjean. Valjean becomes a mayor, agrees to raise the daughter of the dying Fantine and joins the fight for freedom. Les Miz is based on 's epic novel. Perhaps a Les Miz sequel would include an afterlife love story for 脡ponine or an earthbound one for Marius and Cosette.

Based on 's play of the same name, Spring Awakening depicts a dozen young people making their way through the thrilling, complicated and mysterious time of sexual awakening. Maybe a sequel would show what happened to the teenagers once they had children of their own.

The Last Five Years:

The Last Five Years tells the story of the tumultuous five-year relationship between Jamie, a rising novelist, and Cathy, a struggling actress. Perhaps a sequel 鈥 in chronological order 聽鈥 would show Jamie and Cathy finally finding their true soulmates.

Something Rotten!聽tells the story of brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom, who are desperate to write a hit play, but are stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance rock star known as "The Bard." When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world's very first MUSICAL! Maybe a sequel would show how the Bottom Brothers became the creative minds behind the first jukebox musical.

鈥Alex Bird: Sweeney Todd -- everybody is just lying dead on the ground for three hours as the overture plays over and over.

Sweeney Todd tells the story of a barber who was unjustly imprisoned for years by a corrupt judge. He returns to England bent on revenge 鈥 a revenge that turns indiscriminately murderous, leading his resourceful accomplice, Mrs. Lovett, to bake the victims into meat pies. Perhaps a sequel would show what happened to poor Tobias.

鈥狫ared Johnson: I essentially want to see a sequel to The Book of Mormon -- but instead鈥cientology.

The Book of Mormon tells the story of two young Mormons who embark on a mission to spread the gospel in Uganda. Maybe a sequel would show us what became of Elder Cunningham and Nabalungi鈥r focus on a different religion entirely.
