News Political Rock Musical The Fix Returns to the Signature, Starting Tonight The Signature Theatre production of the political-themed musical The Fix is presented Aug. 11-Sept. 20 in the MAX Theatre.

Artistic director directs the musical, which made its U.S. debut at the Signature in 1998.

The Fix, which has a book by and music by Dana P. Rowe, is the first production of Signature鈥檚 2015-16 season.

鈥�The Fix paints a picture of American politics that鈥檚 part fun-house, part haunted house,鈥� said Schaeffer in a recent statement. 鈥淚t鈥檚 twisted, and it pushes boundaries. It instantly became one of Signature鈥檚 favorite projects. And on top of that, it鈥檚 one of the shows most requested by our audiences. It鈥檚 only fitting that we follow the year-long celebration of Signature鈥檚 first 25 years with this all-new production of a great work from our past.鈥�

The production stars Mark Evans (The Book of Mormon, first national tour) as Cal Chandler, Lawrence Redmond&苍产蝉辫;(厂颈驳苍补迟耻谤别鈥檚&苍产蝉辫;Elmer Gantry) as Grahame Chandler, Christine Sherrill (Mamma Mia! Las Vegas) as Violet Chandler and Bobby Smith&苍产蝉辫;(厂颈驳苍补迟耻谤别鈥檚&苍产蝉辫;Cabaret) as Senator Reed Chandler. Boyd, Redmond, Sherrill and Smith are joined in the cast by Jessica Lauren Ball (Deborah Pullman; Signature鈥檚 Elmer Gantry), Matt Conner (Frankie Diamonte; Signature鈥檚 Elmer Gantry), Mark Chandler (Richard; Signature鈥檚 Cabaret), Jordan DeBona (Leroy; Signature鈥檚 Cabaret), Jamie Eacker (Donna/Mistress; Signature鈥檚 Cabaret), Maria Egler (Maria; Signature鈥檚 Diner),  (Bobby Cracker; Signature鈥檚 Show Boat), Nick Lehan (Carol Moreland; Signature鈥檚 Elmer Gantry),  (Anthony Gliardi; Signature鈥檚 Sunday in the Park with George), Christopher Mueller (Cardinal O鈥橦are; Signature鈥檚 Miss Saigon), Tracy Lynn Olivera (Leslie Pynchon; Signature鈥檚 Company), Stephen Gregory Smith (Peter; Signature鈥檚 Elmer Gantry), Nickolas Vaughan (Sergeant; Signature鈥檚 Dreamgirls), Caroline Wolfson (Danielle; Keegan Theatre鈥檚 Hair) and Rachel Zampelli (Tina McCoy; Signature鈥檚 Brother Russia).

The production also has choreography by , musical direction by Jon Kalbfleisch, scenic design by Misha Kachman, costume design by Hunter Kaczorowski, lighting design by Ryan O鈥橤ara, sound design by Lane Elms, wig design by Dori Beau Seigneur and video design by Hannah Marsh. The production stage manager is Kerry Epstein, and the assistant stage manager is Karen Currie.

"When a popular presidential candidate dies in his mistress鈥檚 bed, his ambitious wife Violet thrusts their lackluster son Cal into the spotlight," according to press notes. "With the help of her strategic brother-in-law, Violet transforms Cal into the perfect citizen. Together they create one of the most dysfunctional 鈥� and brutally entertaining 鈥� almost-first families ever."
