News Radiohead's Thom Yorke Will Compose Original Music for Clive Owen's Broadway Debut Thom Yorke, lead singer, guitarist and principal songwriter for the three鈥恡ime Grammy Award鈥恮inning alternative rock band, Radiohead, will compose original music for the Broadway revival of Harold Pinter鈥檚 Old Times, which opens on Broadway this fall.

Directed by Tony winner , the cast will be led by the previously reported Golden Globe winner and Oscar nominee , who will play the role of Deeley. Owen will be joined by Olivier Award winner and Tony Award nominee as Anna and Olivier Award nominee as Kate.

Old Times begins previews Sept. 17 prior to an official opening Oct. 6 at Broadway's American Airlines Theatre.

Hodge released a statement saying, 鈥淭he music Thom has written for Old Times gives an immediacy and a 鈥榥ow鈥恘ess鈥 to the show. The play itself is about memory and love鈥擳hom鈥檚 music works backwards and forwards and plays with time and repetition in the same way Pinter does. In true Thom Yorke鈥恠tyle, the music is epic, heartbreaking, irresistible and complex. I鈥檓 hopeful this collaboration will result in a new kind of theatergoer coming to our show.鈥

Yorke, who also plays keyboards in Radiohead, issued a statement saying 鈥淚t鈥檚 been a pleasure working with Doug on my first stage production. I鈥檝e enjoyed exploring through music the script鈥檚 themes of love and memory as well as Pinter鈥檚 rhythms, twists and turns.鈥 The U.K.-based Radiohead has released eight albums since its formation in 1985, including "Pablo Honey" (1993) and "OK Computer" (1997), selling more than 30 million units worldwide. On his own, Yorke has released two solo albums, most recently "Tomorrow's Modern Boxes" in 2014.

He is the second major composer to announce he will compose music for a Broadway show this season; Philip Glass will compose a score for the upcoming spring 2016 revival of The Crucible.
