Release dates have been announced for two eagerly awaited Disney films: the sequel to the 2013 animated hit Frozen and the live-action adaptation of The Lion King.
The follow-up to Frozen will hit screens November 27, 2019, while The Lion King, which will be directed by Jon Favreau, will make its debut June 19, 2019, according to .
Frozen won two Oscars in 2014: Best Song (鈥淟et It Go鈥�) and Best Animated Feature. A new musical based on 顿颈蝉苍别测鈥檚 Academy Award-winning film will play the Denver Center for the Performing Arts鈥� Buell Theatre August 17鈥揙ctober 1 before arriving on Broadway in spring 2018 at the St. James Theatre.
TheLionKing, based on Disney's 1994 animated feature film, will feature James Earl Jones reprising his performance as Mufasa and Donald Glover as Simba. The animated film and subsequent Broadway musical feature music by and The original movie earned more than $1 billion for Disney and won Oscars for the song Can You Feel the Love Tonight and Hans Zimmer's original score.
The multi-Tony Award-winning musical The Lion King, directed by Tony winner , continues at the Minskoff Theatre.
