JAY Records will release the world premiere cast recording of the 1976 musical Something鈥檚 Afoot November 15.
A host of British stage stars鈥攊ncluding Susie Blake, Sally Ann Triplett, Laura Pitt-Pulford, Julie Atherton, Graham Bickley, Scott Hunter, Daniel Boys, Keith Merrill, Gordon Griffin, Stuart Pendred, and Tony winner Jim Dale鈥攚ill head to Angel Studios June 24, 29, and July 1.
Something鈥檚 Afoot has music and lyrics by James McDonald, David Vos, and Robert Gerlach with additional music by Ed Linderman. The orchestrations are by Dan DeLange. Craig Barna is the conductor and musical director.
A murder mystery spoof set in a country estate in 1935, the musical played Broadway's Lyceum Theatre May 27鈥揓uly 18, 1976. Tony Tanner directed a cast that included Tessie O'Shea, Gary Beach, Willard Beckham, Gary Gage, Barbara Heuman, Marc Jordan, Jack Schmidt, Liz Sheridan, Neva Small, and Sel Vitella.
