Benefits and Galas See The All-Star Cast Who'll Pay Tribute to John Kander for Roundabout Theatre Company

The benefit concert will celebrate Kander's 98th birthday, with Alan Cumming leading a roster of Roundabout favorites.

Tony winner Alan Cumming will emcee Roundabout Theatre Company's one-night concert Ring Them Bells: A Birthday Celebration for John Kanderand an all-star cast of Roundabout favorites has been assembled.

Set for May 19 at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre, the benefit concert will celebrate Kander's 98th birthday. For nearly five decades, composer Kander and lyricist Fred Ebb operated within the upper echelons of Broadway, writing the scores for 15 Broadway musicals. This one-night concert will reunite Roundabout Interim Artistic Director Scott Ellis, director and choreographer Susan Stroman, and playwright David Thompson, who were the creative team behind Kander and Ebb鈥檚 And The World Goes 鈥楻ound and Steel Pier.

The benefit will feature performances from Jim Borstelmann, Josh Breckenridge, Victoria Clark, Derrick Cobey, DeMarius R. CopesE. Clayton Cornelious, Charlotte d鈥橝mboise, Brandon Victor Dixon, Whoopi GoldbergJeremy Gumbs, Ramin Karimloo, Jennifer Lopez, John-Michael Lyles, Bianca Marroqu铆nAaron James McKenzie, Debra Monk, Jinkx Monsoon, Jessie Mueller, Bebe Neuwirth, Kelli O鈥橦ara, David Hyde Pierce, Antoine L. Smith, Anna Uzele, Lillias White, Tony Yazbeck, and Karen Ziemba.

Additionally, the original 1996 Merry Murderesses from the Broadway revival of Chicago will make an appearance: Caitlin Carter, Mindy Cooper, Mamie Duncan-Gibbs, Denise Faye, and Mary Ann Lamb.

Proceeds from Ring Them Bells: A Birthday Celebration for John Kander will support Roundabout Theatre Company鈥檚 many programs and initiatives, including Education at Roundabout.
