The Actors Company Theatre (TACT) has announced its 2016-17 season. The slate will include a rare New York revival of Oliver Goldsmith鈥檚 She Stoops To Conquer and the world premiere of The Gravedigger鈥檚 Lullaby by Jeff Talbott.
The Gravedigger鈥檚 Lullaby, directed by Jenn Thompson, is centered on Baylen, a hardworking gravedigger struggling to make ends meet. Performances will begin February 28 for an official opening on March 12, also at The Beckett Theatre.
She Stoops To Conquer, Oliver Goldsmith's 18th century British comedy about mismatched loves, will begin performances October 4 at The Beckett Theatre at Theatre Row. Featuring direction by Scott Alan Evans, the revival will officially open October 16.
The cast will feature Simon Jones (The Hitchhiker鈥檚 Guide to the Galaxy), Cynthia Darlow (Beyond Therapy), Mary Bacon (Giant), Jeremy Beck (Widowers鈥� Houses), MacKenzie Meehan (HBO鈥檚 Vinyl), James Prendergast (Happy Birthday) and Richard Thieriot (Clybourne Park). The cast will be reprising their roles from an earlier TACT Salon Series staging of She Stoops To Conquer.
She Stoops To Conquer will feature set design by Brett Banakis (D Deb Debbie Deborah), lighting design by Mary Louise Geiger (The Constant Wife) and costume design by Tracy Christiansen (HBO鈥檚 Lady Day at Emerson鈥檚 Bar & Grill).
