An invitation-only workshop presentation of Joshua Owen's new play Gods of Mercy will be presented April 14 at 7 PM at Teatro Latea in the Lower East Side.
Directed by Sammy Zeisel, the cast will feature Timothy Busfield (West Wing, A Few Good Men, Brighton Beach Memoirs), Constance Shulman (Orange Is the New Black, The Rose Tattoo), Ethan Dubin (The Ferryman), and Rebeca Robles (Reprisal). Robles is also producing.
The play follows Margaret, a biologist studying the dwindling population of birds on a remote Pacific island. She and husband Greg have been alone on the island for months when retirees Bo and Darce crash their boat into a nearby reef. Their arrival shows cracks in Margaret and Greg鈥檚 relationship, which are then torn wide open in the aftermath of a catastrophic storm surge.
Casting is by Grande/Morris. Jamie Chen is the stage manager.
Teatro Latea is located at 107 Suffolk St. on the second floor.
