The winter/spring season will include 's King & Country: Shakespeare鈥檚 Great Cycle of Kings along with works by New York-based company The Civilians, celebrated playwright Charles Mee and Oscar nominee .

Theatrical programming kicks off Jan 16, 2016, with Mee's The Glory of the World, directed by artistic director . The piece is an examination of renowned Kentucky-based mystic and Catholic monk Thomas Merton. "The Solo cups are overflowing at Merton鈥檚 centennial birthday celebration," state press notes. "As 17 men in party hats assemble to toast Merton鈥檚 many faces, asking: What makes a man? What makes a saint? What if nothing is sacred鈥攁nd everything is?" Performances will run through Jan 31.
In February, BAM reunites with the celebrated Maly Drama Theatre of St. Petersburg for its production of The Cherry Orchard by . The play will be presented in Russian with English subtitles; performances begin Feb. 17 and will run through Feb. 27.
In March, BAM stages The Civilians' Rimbaud in New York, written and directed by the company's artistic director Steve Cosson. The work is a playful and insightful exploration of "Illuminations," the 130-year-old book of prose poems that helped bring Rimbaud world-wide acclaim. Beginning performances March 24 and running through May 1, The comes to BAM with King & Country: Shakespeare鈥檚 Great Cycle of Kings, a cycle of four Shakespeare plays about great monarchs staged by artistic director . The company was last seen on Broadway with another royal multi bill, Parts 1 & 2, this past spring.

American Songbook Series at Lincoln Center:

Hosted and narrated by biographer James Gavin and based on his acclaimed book "Is That All There Is?: The Strange Life of Peggy Lee," the show features two-time Grammy-nominated jazz singer Jane Monheit; singer-songwriters Spencer Day and Nellie McKay; British songstress Barb Jungr; Rebecca Parris, New England鈥檚 First Lady of Jazz; and Lee鈥檚 longtime pianist-conductor Mike Renzi. This musical biography explores the radiant, eccentric and mysterious star whose work inspired , Dusty Springfield, , and Diana Krall. Tickets start at $50

A presence on stage and screen for over 70 years, Moreno has won all four of the most prestigious awards in show business: the Oscar, the Tony, two Emmys and a Grammy. The actress was the first Hispanic woman to win an Academy Award, which she earned for her epic portrayal of Anita in the film version of . Moreno has starred on Broadway and the West End, appeared in more than 40 feature films, and countless television shows. Andy Karl and Orfeh (Feb. 20 at 8:30 PM). The funny and sexy real-life couple Andy Karl & Orfeh have had a long run as two of Broadway鈥檚 favorite performers. Recording star and celebrated cabaret artist Liz Callaway (, , in Concert at Lincoln Center) pays homage to one of the great American songwriting teams for the stage and revisits, among many others, the songs that earned her a Tony nomination in 1984 for .
