News Tony Danza Will Headline Honeymoon In Vegas Tour in 2016 Tony Danza, who starred in the Broadway premiere of the recent Jason Robert Brown musical Honeymoon in Vegas, will headline the North American tour of the production, which will begin in 2016.

Based on the 1992 Castle Rock Entertainment film of the same name, Honeymoon in Vegas opened on Broadway Jan. 15 following previews that began Nov. 18, 2014. The musical had previously played an engagement at New Jersey's in the fall of 201.

Honeymoon in Vegas played its final performance at Broadway's Nederlander Theater April 5. As of closing, it had played 66 previews and 93 regular performances for a total of 159 shows for a New York audience.

The musical was praised by critics, but failed to catch on at the box office. The production grossed $371,576.00 for the week ending March 29.

Along with Emmy and Golden Globe Award nominee Danza, the cast was led by Tony nominee , and with , Tony Award nominee and . The Broadway premiere reunited all six principal actors who appeared in the world premiere at Paper Mill.

In addition to director and choreographer , the creative team also featured three-time Tony Award nominee (scenic design); Emmy Award winner Brian C. Hemesath (costume design); Tony Award winner (lighting design); Tony Award winner and Drama Desk Award winner Drew Levy (sound design); Tony and Grammy Award winner , , Jason Robert Brown and (orchestrations); Tom Murray (music director); Charles G. LaPointe (hair and wig design); and Kathy Fabian/Propstar (props).

Honeymoon in Vegas has a book by "Blazing Saddles" and "Fletch" writer and a score by three-time Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown. The musical, according to press notes, "tells the story of Jack Singer (Rob McClure), a regular guy with an extreme fear of marriage, who finally gets up the nerve to ask his girlfriend Betsy (Brynn O'Malley) to marry him. But when they head to Las Vegas to get hitched, smooth talking gambler Tommy Korman (Tony Danza), looking for a second chance at love, falls head over heels for Betsy. What happens next is anybody's bet!"

The Broadway musical was produced by , Roy Gabay, Rich Entertainment Group, Dan Farah, Metro Card, King's Leaves, Dan Frishwasser, Leslie Greif/Thom Beers, Suzi Dietz & Lenny Beer, Howard Hoffman/Anna Czekaj, Important Musicals, Sharon Karmazin, L.G. Scott, Martin Markinson in association with Ken Greiner/Ruth Hendel, Krauss Freitag/Boyle Koenigsberg, Rick Steiner/Bell-Staton Group and Paper Mill Playhouse.

The original cast recording is available from Universal Music Enterprises. The recording is produced by composer and three-time Tony Award winner Brown and Emmy Award winner Jeffrey Lesser.
