The celebration will include a special screening of the film April 24 at the Beacon Theatre. The five surviving members of the comedy group, , Terry Gilliam, , and Michael Palin, will come together for the presentation. Tickets go on sale on March 23 at .
The 1975 film served as the basis for the Tony-winning musical Spamalot which has a book by Idle and music by . The late directed the production, which won three 2005 Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
The upcoming Festival will also boast the international premiere of the documentary "Monty Python--The Meaning of Live," directed by Roger Graef and James Rogan.
The feature-length documentary, according to press notes, "offers unprecedented access to the preparations and staging of the Pythons鈥� 2014 reunion shows at The O2 in London and gives a fascinating insight into the personalities, relationships, and circumstances that made the Pythons into a global phenomenon." The documentary will premiere April 25.
Special screenings of "Monty Python鈥檚 Life of Brian" and "Monty Python鈥檚 The Meaning of Life" will also be offered April 25 and 26, respectively. Each film presentation will be followed by a Q&A with some of the members of Monty Python.
