A collection of Broadway hits were parodied in a sketch from the November 2 episode of Saturday Night Live, hosted by John Mulaney with musical guest Chappell Roan. Watch the full skit鈥攕et in a nightmarish Duane Reade inside the Port Authority Bus Terminal鈥攊n the video above.
The list of musical references included versions of The Lion King's "The Circle of Life," "Do-Re-Mi" from The Sound of Music, "Master of the House" from 尝别蝉&苍产蝉辫;惭颈蝉茅谤补产濒别蝉, "Willkommen" from Cabaret, "Prince Ali" from Aladdin, "Alexander Hamilton" from Hamilton, and "We Go Together" from Grease for the big finale.
As a revolving cast of characters arrived at the bus station, parody topics ranged from NYC Mayor Eric Adams' indictment to the highly publicized Timoth茅e Chalamet look-alike contest held in Washington Square Park last month.
This airing of SNL was Mulaney's sixth time hosting. The comedian made his Broadway debut in 2016, when he and Nick Kroll brought their act Oh, Hello to the Main Stem. As previously reported, Mulaney will soon appear alongside Fred Armisen, Ren茅e Elise Goldsberry, Richard Kind, SNL's own Chloe Fineman, and a starry rotating cast in Simon Rich's All In: Comedy About Love.
