On February 18, the cast of the long-running Broadway musical Beautiful: The Carole King Musical performed a medley of Carole King tunes on ABC’s The View.
The show, which recently celebrated its fifth anniversary, stars Chilina Kennedy in the titular role. Kennedy led her castmates in a medley of “On Broadway,� “Natural Woman,� and “I Feel the Earth Move.�
Written by Douglas McGrath with songs by Carole King, Gerry Goffin, Barry Mann, and Cynthia Weil, the musical charts the life of the award-winning musical artist from the age of 16 through her 1971 concert at Carnegie Hall. The production was nominated for seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and won two Tonys: for leading actress Jessie Mueller and sound design for Brian Ronan.
