Video Watch: Helen J Shen and Darren Criss Sing 'Hitting the Road' in Maybe Happy Ending

The Hue Park and Will Aronson musical continues its run at the Belasco Theatre.

Broadway's Maybe Happy Ending has released a new music video of the score's "Hitting the Road," with Helen J Shen and Darren Criss' performances from the forthcoming cast album matched with onstage footage from the Belasco Theatre and from the recording studio.

The new musical, which opened November 12, 2024, is written by Hue Park and Will Aronson, and is directed by Tony winner Michael Arden. Read the reviews here. To hear more songs from the show, listen to five preview tracks released last year .

Shen and Criss star as, respectively, Claire and Oliver, South Korea-based Helperbots that have been deemed obsolete. The pair form an unlikely bond, setting off a surprising and romantic adventure. The music is by Aronson with lyrics by Park and a book by Park and Aronson.

The cast also includes Marcus Choi as James and Junseo, Dez Duron as Gil Brentley, Arden Cho as Jiyeon, Young Mazino as Suhan, and Jim Kaplan as Young Junseo. Understudies Hannah Kevitt, Steven Huynh, Christopher James Tamayo, Claire Kwon, and Daniel May round out the company. Casting is by Telsey & Co's Craig Burns.
