DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a skilled and creative professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design and drafting to work closely with lead Associate Designers on each project. While the position has a primary focus on theater work, opportunities with experiential, exhibit, and interior design are available.
Key Responsibilities:
鈥� Create detailed drafts and technical drawings following industry standards.
鈥� Utilize Vectorworks for drafting and 3D modeling.
鈥� Develop visual assets using Photoshop and Illustrator.
鈥� Produce basic 3D models and translate them into plates for fabrication.
鈥� Collaborate with the design team to ensure project specifications are met.
鈥� Manage and analyze data using spreadsheets (Google Sheets preferred).
鈥� Participate in team meetings and contribute to creative brainstorming sessions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
鈥� 3-5 years of industry experience.
鈥� 1-2 years of experience in a professional studio or a relevant college degree.
鈥� Proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator.
鈥� Strong knowledge of industry drafting standards.
鈥� High proficiency in Vectorworks.
鈥� Basic 3D modeling skills with the ability to plate from a 3D model.
鈥� Proficiency with spreadsheets.
鈥� Based in New York City.
Additional Skills (Preferred but not Required):
鈥� Experience with 3D and digital rendering.
鈥� Model-making experience.
鈥� Familiarity with 3D printing and/or laser cutting.
鈥� Interest in non-theater, experiential, exhibit, and interior design.
