About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Associate General Manager (AGM) to support the General Manager in overseeing the operations of multiple theatrical productions and special events at the Audible Theater. This role combines AGM Management responsibilities with Company Management duties, ensuring that productions run smoothly, budgets are managed effectively, and all company members are supported.
The AGM will play a key role in day-to-day production administration, financial tracking, and personnel management, while also directly overseeing certain projects. The AGM will report to the General Manager, Audible Theater. An Assistant Company Manager will report to this role.
This is an excellent opportunity for a theater management professional with 3+ years of experience in company management and/or general management in commercial theater who is ready to take on both operational leadership and hands-on production support.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations Support
* Serve as the primary liaison between the theater, creative teams, and production staff for day-to-day operational needs.
* Support the General Manager in the execution of all contractual, financial, and administrative responsibilities across multiple productions.
* Oversee certain projects directly, ensuring smooth operations, financial oversight, and compliance with union and venue policies.
* Work closely with the Audible Theater team to coordinate scheduling, staffing, and logistics for performances and events.
* Serve as the on-site management representative at Audible Theater as needed, working closely with venue staff.
Financial & Contract Administration
* Assist in budget creation, monitoring, and financial reporting for productions, ensuring adherence to approved budgets.
* Process payroll and oversee financial tracking, settlements, and reporting in collaboration with the General Manager.
* Draft, review, and execute contracts for artists, crew, and vendors in coordination with the General Manager.
Company & Personnel Management
* Supervise the project-based Assistant Company Manager, delegating tasks as needed to maintain efficiency and accuracy across all projects.
* Manage travel, housing, and day-to-day needs for production personnel, ensuring a seamless experience for all company members.
* Oversee union reporting and compliance for various production departments.
* Facilitate onboarding for new team members, including creative staff, performers, and production personnel.
Building & Venue Coordination
* Work with Minetta Lane Theater management to ensure the building is properly staffed and equipped with up-to-date industry-standard equipment.
* Assist in managing budgets for the theater facility itself, in addition to production-specific budgets.
* Address building and operational needs related to productions, maintenance, and venue improvements.
Qualifications
* 3+ years of experience in company management and/or general management in commercial theater.
* Strong understanding of theatrical operations, financial management, and union compliance.
* Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
* Proficiency in budgeting, payroll, and financial tracking, with experience using Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
* Ability to multitask and prioritize projects in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
* Experience managing staff, contracts, and logistics for multiple productions simultaneously.
* Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Salary Range: $1,700/week

Work Environment
This role is based at ShowTown Theatrical offices but requires frequent travel to Audible Theater downtown to support productions and events. Some evening and weekend work will be required based on production schedules.
